“I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.” Maya Angelou
Today’s Mind Bullet once again digs into the root of a word to find more understanding. This time, we look at the word belonging.
A Facebook post is the genesis of this episode. A friend shared a post on a military veteran’s experience of belonging and how finding that sense of belonging post-service was a difficult search.
The first definition of “belong” is to possess something. The second is to be a member or part of a particular group. Think about that first definition when you find yourself searching for that sense of belonging. Perhaps that journey should start inside and become something you possess rather than something you seek.
Listen in to hear more about the idea of belonging, possessing an internal sense of belonging before trying to find it outside, and how belonging, just like everything else, begins with you.
Enjoy the episode!
