How Values Direct Your Behavior | Habits 2 Goals Podcast

By: Nick Palkowski

“The most successful entrepreneurs define their values first, then live them.”  Tweet This

It seems so many of us have become lost in our TO-DO lists. And, not by accident as even the most notable goal-achievement process, S.M.A.R.T. goals, leaves a user starring at a long TO-DO list and wondering, “Okay, what’s my next step? What should I do next?”

It turns out though that the most efficient way to accomplish our goals isn’t by using a to-do list. It’s by applying a built-in tool-set everyone already has at their disposal—something we’re all born with— it’s by applying HABIT!

When we intentionally align and develop the most important habits related to our goals we accomplish them more quickly!

And, when it comes to habit development and behavior change, did you know that one’s VALUES is one of the most important factors.

In this episode, Martin reviews the concept of VALUES  (starting around 11:50) and provides a few simple tips about how you can identify those core values representative of the lifestyle or business you wish to create.

Since values direct one’s behavior, it’s essential to get clarity around those values that you determine should represent you and your business.  Martin shares a values exercise he found transformation and helped him identify the 9 core values that one of his companies would operate and live by.

Now, you can follow the same process to develop your…

  • Values
  • A mission statement
  • And a vision statement

Listen to find out why this is important and what you can do if you’re struggling to determine your key values. This podcast will help to give you the strategies you need and help you gain direction and a sense of control.

(Bonus: At the end of the episode, there’s one simple tip for a better night’s sleep! ; )
