How to make 2018 a Breakthrough Year, (STEP #7) HABIT! HABIT! HABIT! ; )

Cosmic Habit Force is the greatest of all natural laws. It is Nature’s comptroller through which all other natural laws are coordinated.
~Napoleon Hill

[STEP #7,  (week #7) in the BREAKTHROUGH mini-series, “How to Make 2018 Your Best, Breakthrough New Year Ever!”]

Step #7 =  HABIT! (Cosmic Habit Force, Habit Alignment & P.A.R.R.)

Step #1: Decide
Step #2: Assess
Step #3: Values, Mission and Vision
Step #4: Passion & Purpose
Step #5: Energy & Enthusiasm
Step #6: GOALS!

And, now we delve into… HABIT!

HABIT. HABIT. HABIT.

It’s worthwhile to keep in mind that when The Habit Factor® was first  introduced, habit was an afterthought if any thought at all when it came to goal achievement. This was primarily due to its negative connotation, “smoking, drinking, drugs,” etc.

Even in what is regarded as one of the best self-help books of all time, Think & Grow Rich, habit, as a force for goal achievement was NOT identified, not as a specific process to develop and align habits to one’s goals. In fact, it took Mr. Hill (link) in his own words, another “twenty years” to recognize what he left out of Think & Grow Rich. It was HABIT or as he put it, “Cosmic Habit Force

So, what does this mean to you?

In real words/language? Simply, put, HABIT or, Habit Alignment Technology? is the most efficient way for your to achieve your goals.

In this episode, Martin specifically talks about the force of habit and / or Cosmic Habit Force plus, Habit Alignment Technology? and the P.A.R.R. methodology to create enduring, positive habits.

“Habit is second nature, or rather, ten times nature.” William James

How to make 2018 a Breakthrough Year, (STEP #6)

Success is goals, and all else is commentary.
~Brian Tracy

[STEP #6,  (week #6) in the BREAKTHROUGH mini-series, “How to Make 2018 Your Best, Breakthrough New Year Ever!”]

Step #6 =  GOALS!

Step #1: DECIDE.
Step #2: Assess
Step #3: Values, Mission and Vision
Step #4: Passion & Purpose
Step #5: Energy & Enthusiasm

And, now we’re on to step #6, GOALS!!!

BT is a hero and a living legend in the personal development space and I’m fairly sure NOBODY has created more quality personal development content than Mr. Brian Tracy.

Point is… the man is a walking ‘master-class’ in personal development and if he’s suggesting goals are (equal to) success, than we probably ought to pay more attention to them, right?

So, in this episode we do just that…

Zig Ziglar used to say, “Don’t be a wandering generality, you must become a meaningful specific.”

Goals allow us to become a meaningful specific.

What is your #1 Goal right now?
Where is that goal written?
Is it posted somewhere were you can see it?
Do you revisit your goals often? If so, how often?

Why are goals so darn important? First if our energy (recall last episode) can, at any moment, go in any number of different directions than goals force us to focus our energy and attention! Goals help us to concentrate and direct our precious energy toward something that matters to us.

So why don’t most people set goals? Largely because A) they don’t really understand the importance of goals. And, B) they don’t understand the process to set and achieve goals.

This episode is all about “A” above… Really, understanding the importance of goals to the point where we can’t ignore them and the next couple weeks we will dig into The Habit Factor’s method for goal achievement!

Remember, each week we provide a tool or template to help you process and implement the week’s lesson and this week is no different!

S02-Frequently Asked Friday 03: Are Habits Better Than Goals?

“Are habits better than goals?”

This is a semi-crazy meme that Martin wrote about last week (here). In this episode, Martin elaborates on the idea that these are equal and complementary components when it comes to goal achievement. Then he shares a bit of a surprise— just how far back this realization actually dates.

The short story is that goals properly set (with significant motivation to achieve them) illuminate the ideal behaviors/habits one needs to foster.

And, using The Habit Factor’s method of habit development, P.A.R.R. (Plan, Act, Record & Reassess) one is able to develop habits more quickly.

Then, Martin shares a quick example and reviews a little “Goal Setting Theory” and a man named Edwin Locke (you likely know him via his SMART goals system).
